Let’s be real, we all joined BNI to increase our sales ratio, right? Come’ on, am I wrong on this? I don’t believe so.

We joined BNI for the referrals and we are doing pretty well with it, so why should I? The referrals are coming, some are ok, and some are pretty good. What if, you found a way to not only increase your referrals received but doubled or even tripled their dollar value? Would you do it?

In my BNI group I have started a new way to GIVE to them. I will sit with each member individually (in our One on Ones) and find out what/who their biggest desire to meet would be and then find a way to get them in that door. I ask many questions to not find the single sale but seek out who would be in their “power team” and then I go find them.

When I bring them to the group meeting and/or make the introduction, that member is now more than willing to reciprocate on that very level.

What has come from that has been this is that they ARE reciprocating. I am now, getting the appointments of a life time. Some appointments are ones that I have worked very hard to get into, without much success. Not any longer and not just one, but many.

It has to do with SHARING that 6 degrees of separation, and has brought my business to a whole new level.

All from 'GIVING' a simple gift.

How can trust mean dollars and cents to you and your business?

In today's world, TRUST means the difference in closing or killing a sale.

How can this mean dollars and cents to you or your business?

In Networking groups - Relationship building, and Trust building. All are activities; we have heard a lot of lately. They tell us that these actions can mean the difference between closing a sale and killing a deal completely.

Why does this matter? And could it come back to haunt you later?

How could someone BREAK this trust with you enough to kill a deal with you? Would you continue to pass referrals to this person? How long could it take before they start working with you or your clients again? What happens when we break this trust later on?

In today’s I want it now society of which many of our “prospective” clients are connected to someone we know in some way, and could mean the completion or loss of hundreds of sales.

What happens if we have just one person out there of whom we have broken some line of trust with? We may not even know that they are connected in any way. What happens if we are not creating good will with that one connection? What are we really doing? NOTHING? Or are we shutting the door to thousands of closed sales, without ever even knowing it?

Many times in this internet based society I have met someone across state lines or an even international line that knows someone who knows someone that I know or am connected with in some way. Have you ever talked to someone and they have another connection in common with you? I know I do this daily. I make Multiple, local, national and even international connections on a daily basis. Many times I find out later that have common connections and have talked with that connection about the other person. My initial connection, without even knowing that the second person knew my new friend abroad and I didn’t even know it for weeks.

So what does it matter? This person is thousands of miles away and the conversation may never even come up that we met. RIGHT? Or is it? If you take into account that coveted 6 degrees of separation the answer is not one or two or even 10 or 15. It is in the hundreds or even thousands of sales lost.

What if I had not made a good impression with either connection? How many sales did I just shut the door to? These people probably never talk to each other right? Today’s, I want it now society say’s differently. And you very well could have just lost thousands of sales.

What can make or break the cycle of Trust can travel the globe in an internet instant and will last for a very long time.

Now what if you thought that initial connection was not worth your time?
